Alisa Ferguson, Executive Vice President.

Alisa Ferguson joined McBee Strategic in March 2009 after more than 7 years on Capitol Hill. She most recently served as Legislative Director of the House Science and Technology Committee, under Chairman Bart Gordon (D-TN). There she managed the Committee’s legislative strategy and agenda and served as a policy advisor on issues including energy technology development and budget and appropriations for Federal civilian R&D programs. During the 110th Congress, she managed the Committee's priorities in the America COMPETES Act, including establishment of the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Energy (ARPA-E), and the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, including legislative pieces on solar, geothermal, energy storage, smart grid, and carbon capture and sequestration. She also crafted proposals for a Renewable Electricity Standard and helped negotiate energy provisions in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Previously, Alisa worked in Rep. Gordon’s congressional office, where she handled the energy and environment pieces of his Energy and Commerce Committee portfolio, including the renewable energy, coal, nuclear, vehicles, electricity, and fuels titles of the Energy Policy Act of 2005. She also previously served as a Legislative Assistant for Rep. Brian Baird (D-WA). Before working on Capitol Hill, she was an associate at the Delaney Policy Group, a public affairs firm focused on high-tech policy issues, and worked at the Center for State Policy Research, where she tracked activity in state legislatures. Alisa holds a B.S.F.S., cum laude, from the Georgetown University Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service.
