Ashley Slater, Executive Vice President.
Ashley joined McBee Strategic in February 2008. Ashley brings over eleven years of White House, Executive Agency, and Capitol Hill experience to the firm. Prior to joining McBee Strategic, Ashley served as the Director of Legislative Affairs for the White House Council on Environmental Quality. In this role, she represented the environmental advisor to President George W. Bush on Capitol Hill. Ashley’s areas of focus during her White House tenure included energy security and climate change, clean air and water, cleaner lands, and healthier ecosystems. Prior to joining the White House, Ashley served in the Bush Administration at the Department of Commerce where she advised Secretaries Don Evans and Carlos Gutierrez on energy and environmental issues in the Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs. Before serving in the Bush Administration, Ashley worked for the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) as the Bonneville Administrator’s representative in Washington, D.C. where she communicated with congressional staff and Members of Congress on issues important to BPA including the Energy Policy Act of 2005. She also negotiated with the Department of Energy on policy and technical issues affecting the Agency. From 1996 until 2002, Ashley served on the legislative staff of the late Congresswoman Jennifer Dunn from Washington State. Ashley is a native of Washington State and received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Washington in Seattle. Ashley currently resides in Virginia with her husband Neil.
